Our Process

Area 63 Productions offers a broad scope of services centered around the repair, renovation, restoration and modernization of vintage aluminum travel trailers, such as manufactured by Airstream from the 1940’s through yesterday. We pride ourselves in finding elegant and steadfast solutions in all aspects of our work.

1. Evaluation

A comprehensive overall look-see which includes checking for mold, mildew, or rodent infestation. This is followed by a report to the owner. Sometimes a secondary evaluation is required after teardown.

2. Teardown

Oftentimes trailers get stripped down to expose the inside frame in order to make decisions on insulation types, rewiring, repairs, design layout for axle(s), brakes, driveline components, etc.

3. Structural

Oftentimes a new sub floor is needed, accompanied with frame repairs, tank installation, plumbing provisions, roof structures, plumbing, door and window issues, etc.

4. Paint/Polish

We use several polishing methods, tailored to the metal of your particular trailer. Exposed steel even inside the framework, is treated with epoxy type coatings, visible frame sections receive a coat of sprayed on finish paint.

5. Interior

Includes lighting design, galley/bath layouts, seating, bedding, wood selection, flooring/window coverings, roof ventilators, furnace, refrigeration, cooking appliances and fabrication of every detail the client desires.

6. Exterior/Road

Cleanup, under vehicle plumbing and stabilizer installation, providing for holding tank covers, and other steps that make the finished product. All systems are tested in real life conditions.
