Big Sur

May 15th, 2011
Another big project was finished at Area 63 Productions this week. This 1965 Safari was a co-op project between Caroline and Werner’s Big Sur Getaway ( www.bigsurgetaway.com) and Area 63 Productions. Our studio did all of the functional design work and interior buildout, while Caroline chose fabrics and colors, and installed interior finishing attributes herself.
This 65 Safari will be their personal getaway space, while it might also become available for a vacation rental on their property.
May I present the finished product…

Front lounge/bed. This bed functions as a trundle, but with a twist. The lower mattress hinges up to meet the upper mattress, providing a large, and very comfortable sleeping arrangement.

eating/working bar arrangement. In leu of a dinette, this space can be office, diner, vista point all at once.

A spacious place to sit and enjoy a meal. And a cocktail or two….
below: A galley that performs well, with new appliances and counter space for entertaining.

Kitchen area.

Cheerful bath, full tub and shower.

A great space to sit and unwind.
Congrats Caroline and Werner, on a job well done. Happy Trails!
