Roz went on her new frame today. It was simple. Attach 2 10ft 2×4’s to the front and back of the frame, lift on saw horses, slide out old frame, then slide in new frame, then lower old shell on new frame and floor. I took some time lapse movies of the events that day.
This one is of the actual transfer……
…while that one shows arranging the shell and installing the remaining frame wiring.
The old frame, being gutted and then cut up for recycling.
With the cross members removed, the frame tube was cut up, and here’s all that’s left of it.
The edges of the plywood were sealed before the shell was installed on it.
We proceeded to fit the lower body panels, and to trim the floor where it was necessary. As she sits now, the lower body panels are attached with sheet holders, and will all be renewed. The old metal is corroded, and has many holes and gouges from tire failures of past.
I will be back with more pictures, and more updates soon.
